Eclíptica Isla

Eclíptica Isla is a bridge line from recognized Puerto Rican designer sister duo Michelle and Norein Otero, better known as Eclíptica. The collection was born out of that nostalgic feeling of our heritage as islanders and Puerto Ricans. This feeling got even stronger after Hurricane Maria hit our island. For years, local designers have been considering ways to help the native garment industry, as a vehicle for job creation, innovation and creativity. In creating this line, Michelle and Norein found the perfect opportunity to put words into actions and, at the same time, conceive an expansion of the Eclíptica brand. This will also help create jobs for people in need.

Eclíptica Isla captures the essence of the modern Caribbean girl with a vintage feeling. Our inspiration comes from local icons, architecture and scenery. With a 60’s-70’s flair to it, the pieces take us back to details we have seen all around as we grew up, or as they like to call it “Nostalgia de lo Cotidiano” (nostalgia of the everyday things). The colors, cuts and easy feel gives us the kind of warmth and comfort our abuelita’s gave us when we were kids. Hand in hand with our island aesthetic, Eclíptica Isla is completely committed to be a catalyst to the region’s manufacturing landscape and play an active part of its future.
